Thanks to @MikeMath for pointing me towards Henk Hofstra’s latest work in Drachten. Last week, in a manoeuvre aptly orchestrated with military precision, around 500 red ants spread throughout the city. The arthropod army colonised in front of the theatre De Lawei to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Each ant is approx three meters in length and two meters wide. I reckon Hofstra has once again upped the ante for local authority supported public art. Nice.
