Two years ago Converse roped in Julian Casablancas, Santogold and Pharrell for a one-off single. Considering the brand usually gets its kicks from the dirty rock scene, it was a unexpected yet nifty move. Last week the folk at Converse repeated the trick: in the 2010 reboot, “All Summer”, Beth Cosentino of Best Coast, rapper Kid Cudi and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend have knocked out this tidy tune. Teams and individuals compete to explore the resilient properties of Jell-O as a design medium, cultural phenomenon and versatile jiggling foodstuff.
